Bangor McKee Family Recreates 1955 Group Photo at Original Site
Members of the McKee family from Bangor recreated a 1955 photograph of Lily McKee, Marshall McKee, and their 14 children outside the family home in Ava Street.
The original image shows Marshall Junior, June, William, Bryan, Cora, Olga, Mollie, Leslie, Bebe, Hugh, Bobby, Victor, James, and Greta with their parents.
Sandra McCrackin, who lives in the Ava Street home, organized the reunion. She noted the family includes about 60 cousins, all married with children.
The recreation featured the eldest child and grandchildren of the siblings from the 1955 photo, posed at the same location.
Andrew McKee stated a distant family member built the McKee Clock on Bangor seafront. He said the family's roots in the town date to the 1700s.
Andrew McKee added that Lily and Marshall raised their 14 children despite financial hardship. Dr Fee visited their earlier home in Castle Park.
Andrew McKee said the 14 children entered building and construction trades and became successful.
