Repair Work Set to Begin at Strabane's Alley Theatre Next Week
Repair work at Strabane's Alley Theatre will start on Monday, March 16. A contractor has been appointed and approved by insurers to carry out the necessary fixes.
The theatre in Strabane, County Tyrone, closed in September after an underfloor water leak was found. Initial plans targeted a reopening in April, but inspections and surveys extended the timeline.
Council records now project completion in early summer 2026. The venue paused bookings until September 2026 as a precaution while assessing the work scope.
The building will reopen in summer 2026 with limited programming. Full events will resume from September 2026, with tickets available from that date.
Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Business and Culture committee received a report on the updated plans yesterday.
