Officials from Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins' department are coordinating with the Department for Communities (DfC) to address parking concerns raised by residents inside Derry City Walls.

Foyle MLA Mark Durkan questioned the minister on measures to provide safe and reliable parking for residents along Magazine Street, including those with mobility issues.

Kimmins stated that DfC funded a public realm scheme in Magazine Street and nearby areas to enhance the setting around the Historic City Walls.

She added that her officials are reviewing public feedback from the work to assess potential further actions during and after construction.

DfC has carried out £5,183,521 worth of public realm improvements since 2024 at Bank Place, Union Hall Place, Magazine Street, Palace Street, and Society Street within Derry city centre.
