Aideen McClenaghan from Omagh has been appointed manager of the Irish Venture Capital Association. She started the role in January. Her duties include supporting Ireland's venture capital and equity community and operating the association to deliver value to members.

McClenaghan has over 15 years of experience in senior executive positions in technology, media, and financial services companies. She acts as a main contact for the association, handling member queries, onboarding, and updates on industry developments, events, and policy. She plans and manages events such as briefings, roundtables, and dinners.

She oversees internal operations, coordinates council meetings, prepares documentation, and manages communications to support strategic objectives. McClenaghan noted that the role involves industry representation, relationship management, event delivery, policy engagement, and operational oversight to promote Ireland's venture capital ecosystem.

McClenaghan attended St Conor's Primary School on Tamlaght Road and Loreto Grammar School in Omagh. She held early jobs at SuperValu, Pizzamac in Killyclogher, and Russell's shoe shop while studying at St Mary's in Belfast. She described Omagh as a good place for her childhood, recalling time with sisters, friends, and youth club discos at the local leisure centre.

She lives in Bray, County Wicklow, with her husband and two dogs. McClenaghan expects her first child in July.
