Royal Ulster Yacht Club in Bangor seeks volunteers for its 2020 sailing season. A volunteer information evening is set for Thursday, March 5, at 7.30pm at the club. Interested parties can contact Sailing Secretary Rory by email at sailingsecretary@ruyc.uk.

The Spring Series begins on Saturday, April 4, with races on subsequent Sundays in April. A Try Sail Day follows on April 25 for newcomers to sailing or powerboating. Registration is available on the club website at www.ruyc.uk/sailing/.

Club racing starts after Opening Day on May 2, with the Thursday evening Early Series running from May 7 to June 18. Bangor Regatta 26 (BR26) is scheduled for June 25 to 28. Entries include 18 boats so far, with J109 Blue Jay owned by John Stanley-Whyte among them. Stanley-Whyte won the IRC Northern Ireland Championship at the club last year. Later events feature three Copeland Island Races, the Peel Race, Ailsa Craig Race, and Portpatrick Race. A Young Helm Race returns on July 2. The Healthodontic Ladies Regatta is on August 30. The Autumn Series runs Sundays from September 13 to October 25, followed by the Christmas Cracker Race on December 27.
