The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) delivered the first sessions of a new water quality training programme at Greenmount Campus. The initiative targets agri-professionals to support protection of Northern Ireland's waterways.

The programme equips individuals working with farmers to address agriculture industry challenges. It offers practical guidance on nutrient planning, precision application techniques, and steps to reduce diffuse pollution.

Don Morrow of CAFRE stated that the training covers sustainable land management and actions farmers can take to safeguard water bodies.

This effort forms part of the Sustainable Agriculture Programme's Supporting Agri-Professionals Programme. It aims to build professional development, technical expertise, and practical assistance for advisers, consultants, and other industry professionals.
