Police responded to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Ballymena Road in Doagh, Co Antrim, at 07:50 on Thursday.

Northern Ireland Ambulance Service sent two emergency ambulances to the location.

Crews assessed and treated two patients at the scene before taking them to Antrim Area Hospital.

Officers shut Ballymena Road in both directions during the response.

The closure led to delays in the area. A PSNI spokesperson stated that police coordinated with ambulance staff and urged drivers to use other routes.

PSNI reported the road reopened later that morning.

Translink noted delays to its 07:50 service from Ballyclare to Ballymena caused by the incident.
