A video captured dead mice in the kitchen of a McDonald's restaurant at Crescent Link in Londonderry. The footage emerged while the branch was shut for refurbishment works.

McDonald's confirmed the video's authenticity. A company spokesperson stated the restaurant was closed and under construction at the time. The spokesperson added that the firm works with construction partners and pest control specialists to maintain hygiene standards.

The Food Standards Agency conducted a hygiene review of the Crescent Link restaurant in July 2024. It received a 'very good' overall rating. The cleanliness and condition of facilities and building rated 'good'. This category covers layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control.

The restaurant remains closed for the major refurbishment.
