Dunnes Stores Expands Foyleside Outlet to Largest in Northern Ireland
Dunnes Stores has begun a multimillion investment to redevelop its outlet at Foyleside Shopping Centre in Derry. The project expands the store by absorbing the former food court area. Completion will create a 43,591 sq ft space focused on fashion, lifestyle and homewares, the largest Dunnes footprint in Northern Ireland.
The store opened at the centre in 1995 and has traded for over 30 years. Store manager Gareth McCready described the work as the most significant update in its history. He stated the redesign delivers a contemporary environment suited to current shopping habits and thanked customers for their patience during construction.
A key addition is an in-store cafe with views over the River Foyle. It will serve breakfasts, carvery meals, fish and chips, sandwiches, soups, wraps and coffee. Centre manager Paul Doherty called the investment a milestone that demonstrates long-term commitment to Derry as a retail location.
European designers will create the interior. The store will stock brands such as Savida, Leigh Tucker, Gallery, Paul Gavin, Paul Costelloe, Carolyn Donnelly, Helen Steele and Power Cut, plus specialist ranges from COOK and Considered. A Foyleside spokesperson noted the layout supports a spacious shopping experience.
