Ulster Unionist Party Gains Poll Support Under New Leader Jon Burrows
Jon Burrows now leads the Ulster Unionist Party. A recent Lucid Talk poll records increased support for the party during his leadership. Local council elections and Northern Ireland Assembly elections take place next year.
Burrows entered the Northern Ireland Assembly last year. He requested that Mike Nesbitt remain in position as health minister. Nesbitt assumed the UUP leadership for a second stint in August 2024.
Jayne Murray took up duties as UUP chief executive in November 2024. The party maintains an expanding staff team. Its finances stand at a stronger level than in recent years.
Previous UUP leaders include Steve Aiken, Doug Beattie and Mike Nesbitt.
