Dean Martin, 30, of Wood Lane in Lurgan, faces a charge of sexually assaulting a woman on November 18 of last year. He appeared at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Friday.

The defendant's barrister, David McKeown, noted receipt of a forensic result last week without details. District Judge Michael Ranaghan indicated the result concerns DNA on leggings. A prosecutor confirmed police hold the report but have not forwarded it to the Public Prosecution Service. The PSNI investigating officer stated submission would occur soon.

McKeown contested claims of client identification through video parade procedures and clarified no such identification occurred. He addressed reports of DNA evidence that later proved unlinked to Martin. The judge confirmed presence of DNA not connected to the accused. McKeown linked the recall decision to prior information on the evidence.

Ranaghan ordered the forensic report provided to the defence and court before the full file reaches the prosecution service. The judge set the next hearing for March 4.
