M2 Northbound Collision and Breakdown Cause Rush Hour Delays Near Belfast
A collision blocked lanes on the M2 northbound motorway just past York Street during morning traffic. The incident made lanes one and two impassable until police cleared the scene.
Police classified the crash as damage-only and managed traffic control. Separately, a broken-down vehicle blocked lane one citybound after junction one at Fortwilliam around 8.20am. Recovery teams moved it to the hard shoulder.
Delays built up along the motorway with effects reaching back to Greencastle. Authorities urged drivers to approach affected areas with caution.
The M2 links Belfast city centre to northern suburbs in County Antrim. Both incidents occurred on this main route and were resolved by police.
