Northern Ireland set for prime Tuesday sunshine amid UK temperature rise
Meteorological spring started this week with high pressure bringing warmer conditions to the UK. Northern Ireland will get the clearest skies and most sun on Tuesday. Temperatures across the south will reach 14C that day.
Met Office meteorologist Kathryn Chalk stated Tuesday conditions will stay dry and stable overall. Northern Ireland, north England and Scotland will see the strongest sun. Southern areas face a mix of clear periods and light showers.
Cloud and rain will move into Northern Ireland on Wednesday. Other regions will have more sun, with maximum temperatures at 16C. Thursday brings a UK peak of 18C in the south east, close to last week's record of 18.7C at Kew Gardens.
Friday stays mostly dry at 14C. The outlook follows a winter of repeated low pressure from the Atlantic. Three named storms in January caused heavy rain, flooding and travel issues across the UK.
