Fermanagh Contractor Staff Set for Belfast Marathon to Aid Cancer Centre
Fifteen staff members from Deane Public Works in Killadeas, Fermanagh, plan to run the Belfast Marathon on May 3. Funds raised will support the Cancer Focus centre in Enniskillen.
The centre offers care and support services to cancer patients across Fermanagh. Cancer Focus Northern Ireland operates the facility, which opened as the first community support centre of its type in the region.
Deane Public Works views the effort as aligned with its commitment to staff, customers and the local community. The company aims to assist families affected by cancer locally.
Richard Spratt, chief executive of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland, stated that fundraising remains vital for a 20-year service commitment. Funds cover staff salaries and ongoing operations. The organisation identified Fermanagh as an underserved area after nearly 60 years of cancer support work across Northern Ireland.
