The staff team at Cuan Court Children's Home in Downpatrick received the Human Endeavour Award at the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Civic Awards 2026.

The award went to care workers and management for their support of young people in care. Team leader Rachel Davis stated pride in the team's daily care for residents. She noted the recognition highlights their efforts.

Marie-Louise Sloan, assistant director for cared for children at South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, called the award a recognition of the team's compassion and resilience. Sloan said the staff offer stability and child-focused support to those facing challenges.

Cuan Court operates under the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, part of Northern Ireland's public health service. The trust manages residential care for children needing protection or support.
