Police in Portadown have seized a modified e-bike following observations of dangerous driving. The incident occurred in the town centre, where the bike was driven on both the road and footpath, posing a hazard to pedestrians, other road users, and the rider.

Local Neighbourhood and Roads Policing Teams acted in response to concerns raised by residents and motorists. A PSNI spokesperson confirmed the seizure and highlighted the risks associated with modified e-bikes.

Officers issued a reminder about legal requirements for such vehicles. If a bike cannot be pedalled, it is classified as a motor vehicle, requiring a driving licence, insurance, and a helmet.

Parents were urged to check what their children are riding, as modifications render these bikes illegal and increase safety risks.
