BBC Launches 'Your Farm And Mine' Podcast Series on Northern Ireland Farming
A new six-part podcast series titled Your Farm And Mine has launched on BBC Sounds, focusing on rural life and farming in Northern Ireland. The series is presented by Eve Blair and produced by the team behind Your Place And Mine on BBC Radio Ulster/Foyle. Episodes were recorded on location at farmyards across the region and became available on Friday, 27 February 2026.
Eve Blair, who grew up on a family farm in County Tyrone, features guests including Lorraine Killen and Andrew Wright from Farm Theory. One episode at a farm near Castlederg in County Tyrone covers a cow birthing five calves. Another at the Kelly family farm in Ballyalton, County Down, discusses a thriving owl colony, one of fewer than 30 breeding pairs in Northern Ireland.
In Benbradagh, County Londonderry, sheep farmer Alwyn McFarlane describes the work of his sheepdog. County Tyrone farmer Joel Kerr discusses rearing shorthorn cattle, chickens, and his pie business. At Millbank Farm in Killinchy, County Down, sixth-generation farmer Emily McGowan details sheep, broiler chickens, Highland cows, seasonal flowers, and a farm shop operational since 1889.
The series also visits Grove Dairy in Castlederg, County Tyrone, where John Mitchell milks over 700 cows using robotic machines.
