The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) has appointed Dr Scott King as a non-executive board member to its Departmental Board, effective from 1 March 2026.

Non-executive board members provide external perspectives and experiences to the board. They offer support and constructive challenge to executive members to ensure effective discharge of the board's business.

Dr King's appointment is for a period of three years.
