Inner Wheel Club presents Ballymena 400 timeline to mayor
A framed timeline tracing key dates in Ballymena's development over 400 years has been presented to the Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Tom Gordon.
The presentation was made by the Inner Wheel Club of Ballymena during a visit to the Mayor's Parlour at the Braid. Local club chair Patricia Perry presented the timeline on behalf of members.
The visit took place as part of Ballymena 400 celebrations, marking four centuries since the town was founded.
Inner Wheel District Chair Kathy McCaul accompanied the Ballymena representatives. She described Inner Wheel as the world's largest women's service organisation and said the Ballymena club has been active in civic life for over 80 years.
McCauI also noted that three Inner Wheel clubs operate in Mid and East Antrim: Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne.
Perry said club members had participated in anniversary events throughout the year, including a civic service at St Patrick's Parish Church in August.
The Mayor thanked the club for the timeline, saying it added a record of the town's development to the anniversary celebrations.
