Glenn Robert King, 34, of HMP Magilligan, pleaded not guilty in Belfast Crown Court on Tuesday to the manslaughter of Karen Cummings and possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances on December 14th, 2024.

Karen Cummings, a 40-year-old children’s nurse at Daisy Hill Hospital in Newry, was found unconscious with a serious head injury at a house in Laurel Heights, Banbridge, that evening. Emergency services attended, and she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Kevin McGuigan, 44, of HMP Maghaberry, previously pleaded not guilty to manslaughter and a firearm charge, along with three additional charges, in connection with the same incident.

Judge Fowler set the trial date for Monday, December 7th, and scheduled a review hearing on November 4th to ensure the case is ready. Both defendants were remanded in custody.
