Irish TV presenter Angela Scanlon will take over as the presenter of the BBC Radio 2 Drivetime show.

She previously hosted the programme during a temporary stint earlier this year.

Scanlon described the earlier hosting opportunity as a 'little summer fling'.

The BBC has confirmed her appointment to the regular presenting role.

Her career includes work as a TV presenter in Ireland.
