Teachers across Northern Ireland will take action short of strike starting September 28, as unions continue to press for improvements to pay and working conditions.

The industrial action involves teachers working strictly to their contractual duties, meaning they will not undertake additional tasks beyond what is required under their contracts.

Teaching unions have argued that increasing demands placed on school staff have contributed to growing pressures within the profession. They have called for measures to improve recruitment and retention.
