A supermarket on Springfield Road in Belfast has reopened following a £1 million refurbishment by its new owners, The Wall Group. The store, which was purchased from previous owner Brendan McKee in September 2025, now operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Gavan and Helen Wall operate six SPAR stores and two EUROSPAR stores in north and west Belfast and have now added this location to their portfolio, bringing their total store count to eight. The refurbishment has created 20 new jobs, meaning 65 staff from the local area are employed at the 5,844 square foot store.

The revamped store includes a Walls Foodhall Butchery counter, a Food-to-Go deli serving hot breakfast and lunch, a Subway counter, an off licence, a Barista Bar coffee machine, and internal and external ATMs.

Store owner Gavan Wall said the company is committed to communities where it operates and highlighted that the 24-hour opening has benefited late-night workers, including those from the nearby Royal Victoria Hospital. He added that phase two of the refurbishment will redevelop the exterior, relocating fuel pumps and increasing car parking space.

Store manager Cameron Hughes said the team looks forward to deepening connections with the local community and developing fundraising activities. Richard Ash, sales director at Henderson Group, said it was fantastic to see the new features come to life and described The Wall Group as passionate retailers making a positive impact.

The Wall Group has already raised funds for Cancer Fund for Children, EUROSPAR NI's official charity partner, and plans to continue supporting the organisation.
