Coyle challenges proposed change to Cavanaleck polling station
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council chair Debbie Coyle has objected to an Electoral Office proposal that would move the polling station for Cavanaleck voters from Model Primary School in Enniskillen to Ballinamallard Primary School. The change would apply to next May’s elections.
Cllr Coyle, a Sinn Féin representative, said the move would affect residents who lack transport. She noted that Ballinamallard is seven miles away, and that the current location in Enniskillen is the nearest and most convenient for those in the area.
She stated that a similar proposal was made before the 2023 elections but was withdrawn after objections from residents. According to Cllr Coyle, nothing has changed since then.
Cllr Coyle has submitted an objection to the proposal and encouraged other residents to do the same. She described the plan as unacceptable to Cavanaleck residents.
