BELFAST: A 45-year-old security guard from east Belfast has been remanded in custody charged with attempted murder and 15 other offences alleged to have been committed against a woman between February and August 2026, all aggravated by reason of domestic abuse. The case was adjourned to 7 September.

COLERAINE: A Portrush man with 222 previous convictions used a golf club to smash the rear window and brake lights of a Mercedes, and separately stole alcohol and other items from a Lidl store from which he had been barred. Christopher McCrory (39) received a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years and was ordered to pay £250 compensation for the vehicle damage and £76 to Lidl.
