Local government elections will take place in Northern Ireland in May 2027. In the Glengormley Urban District Electoral Area, Alderman Mark Cosgrove of the Ulster Unionist Party has decided not to seek reselection after serving for 15 years.

Colin Audley has been chosen as the UUP candidate to replace him. Mr Audley is a former police officer who served for 28 years. He grew up in Glengormley and Carnmoney and attended Glengormley High School.

He is a qualified trainer who has delivered courses on domestic abuse awareness and conflict management across Northern Ireland. He also has more than 10 years of experience in property management.

Mr Audley thanked Alderman Cosgrove, describing him as a long-time family friend, and said he will work closely with him during the remainder of the current council term. He stated his goal is to build on the groundwork laid by his predecessor and to provide a strong voice for the community, aiming to make Glengormley an even better and safer place to live, work, and raise a family.
