The Requiem Mass for Bernie Reid, from Sixmilecross, took place at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Beragh.

Fr Sean McCartan led the service and described Mrs Reid as a person of deep decency and empathy. He noted that she and her husband Kieran were always among the first to arrive for Sunday Mass and would take time to pray before the service began.

Mrs Reid worked as a cook at Omagh Training Centre. Fr McCartan said she showed great generosity to those attending the centre, particularly on Monday mornings, when she ensured they had a nourishing meal.

He also spoke of her appreciation for nature and animals, saying she believed all of God’s creation deserved honour and respect.

Fr McCartan highlighted her devotion to her family and the pride she took in her son Vincent’s recent graduation from Ulster University.

Mrs Reid is survived by her husband Kieran, children Joseph, Vincent, Mary Catherine and Paul, and wider family circle. She was predeceased by siblings Mary, Tina and Thomas.
