Park and ride network announced for Belfast Fleadh Cheoil
Visitors driving to Belfast for the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in August can use three dedicated park and ride sites on the main approach roads. The facilities will serve the eight-day festival, which runs from Sunday 2 August to Sunday 9 August.
The sites are at Eikon Exhibition Centre near the M1, Giant’s Park close to the M2, and Belfast Harbour off the M3. Real-time signage will direct motorists. Secure parking will be available, with a free shuttle bus service operated by Translink completing the journey into the city centre.
Shuttle buses from Eikon Exhibition Centre will drop passengers at Grand Central Station. Services from Giant’s Park and Belfast Harbour will arrive at Laganside Bus Station. First departures are at 7.30am each day, except on Sunday 2 August when Eikon Exhibition Centre services start at 10am. Return shuttles will run at regular intervals until 2am on 2 August and from 6 to 9 August, and until midnight from 3 to 5 August.
Parking costs £10 per vehicle per day, plus a 10p convenience fee for online bookings. Payment can be made in advance through the RingGo website or app, or on the day using contactless machines. Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Giant’s Park operates only as a day-parking facility, while the other two sites offer single-day and multi-day options.
All sites will have 24-hour security and designated Blue Badge parking areas near the shuttle stops. The three hubs are part of a wider transport plan for the Fleadh, organised by Belfast City Council and its partners.
Belfast City Council advises everyone travelling in the city during the event to plan ahead and allow extra time. Detailed information on park and ride, shuttle timetables, and road closures is available on the Fleadh Cheoil and council websites.
