Ombudsman Rules PSNI Use of Force Proportionate in June Disorder
The Police Ombudsman has concluded that the PSNI’s use of force during public disorder in June was proportionate.
Officers discharged Attenuating Energy Projectiles twenty times and deployed a water cannon on the night of 10 June 2026.
Body-worn video footage examined by investigators was assessed as meeting the required standard.
Fifteen AEPs were fired in Glengormley and five in Portadown.
