Magherafelt designer Jonathan Anderson creates wedding dress for Taylor Swift
Jonathan Anderson, a Magherafelt-born fashion designer, created the custom Christian Dior Haute Couture gown that Taylor Swift wore at her wedding to American football player Travis Kelce.
The private ceremony took place at Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday. Swift and Kelce both wore bespoke Dior Haute Couture outfits designed by Anderson, who became creative director of Dior's women's, men's and haute couture collections last year.
Anderson founded his own label, JW Anderson, in 2008 and later transformed the Spanish luxury house Loewe into one of fashion's most influential brands. His appointment to Dior was considered one of the most significant moves in the industry in recent years.
Swift reportedly considered proposals from a number of leading fashion houses before selecting Anderson's design. The dress was custom-made for the singer and marks one of the highest-profile bridal commissions of the designer's career.
Anderson has won multiple British Fashion Awards and his designs have been worn by celebrities including Rihanna, Jennifer Lawrence and Sabrina Carpenter.
