A woman has been arrested in Dungannon after police searched a property and seized approximately 50 grammes of a suspected Class A controlled substance.

Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland executed a search warrant at a premises in the town. They made entry simultaneously through the front and rear of the property, giving the occupant no opportunity to react.

The suspect attempted to hide drugs on her person, but this was unsuccessful, a police spokesperson said. She was detained on suspicion of possession of a Class A controlled substance with intent to supply.

Mid Ulster Police have described disrupting drug dealing as a priority, stating that they work to make the district a hostile place for such activity.

Enquiries are ongoing.
