St Gall's Overcome Rossa After Sending Off in Division One Clash
St Gall's recorded a 2-21 to 0-13 victory over Rossa in the Antrim All County Football League Division One at Rossa Park on Wednesday evening.
Rossa led 0-10 to 0-9 at the interval, but the match shifted decisively early in the second half when their player Dominic McEnhill was sent off. He received two yellow cards in quick succession for verbal misconduct.
Down to 14 men, Rossa could not contain the visitors' attack. Niall Fallon scored the first goal for St Gall's, finishing a counter-attack after a Rossa kick-out. Mickey Pollock added a second goal on the hour mark.
Niall Burns, returning to the side after intercounty duty with Antrim, top-scored with 0-9, including two two-pointers. Pollock finished with 1-3, Fallon 1-2, and Danny Quinn added 0-4, one from a free. Colm Walsh contributed 0-2 and Aodhan Gallagher 0-1.
For Rossa, Thomas Morgan scored 0-4 with one two-pointer. Colm Fleming also tallied 0-4, including a two-point free, while McEnhill had registered 0-3 before his dismissal.
The win maintains St Gall's strong league campaign, their only defeat so far coming against Creggan.
