Linfield Women thrash Lisburn Ladies 8-1 as Chambers grabs four
The Sports Direct Women’s Premiership returned on Friday night with four matches and plenty of goals.
Linfield Women produced the standout performance, demolishing Lisburn Ladies 8-1 at Midgley Park. Cora Chambers struck four times and Eve Reilly claimed a hat-trick, while Megan Bell also got on the scoresheet. Hayley Jones scored a consolation for the visitors.
Cliftonville Ladies defeated Derry City Women 5-1 at Solitude. Hannah Doherty gave Cliftonville an early lead and netted again after Victoria Carleton had scored to put the game beyond Derry’s reach. Chelsea Scott pulled one back, but late goals from Kirsty McGuinness and Caitlin McGuinness made the final score emphatic.
Defending champions Glentoran Women won 4-2 away to Crusaders Strikers. Gracie Conway scored a hat-trick, opening the scoring and then assisting Aimee Kerr before adding a second before half-time. Crusaders responded through Mia Fitzsimmons and Rebecca Mann, but Conway completed her treble deep in stoppage time.
Lisburn Rangers cruised to a 3-0 victory at Larne Women. Helen Parker scored inside the first minute, and Ellie-Mae Dickson struck in each half to seal the win.
