Romanian National in Newry Given Suspended Sentence for Universal Credit Fraud
A Romanian national living in Newry has been given a suspended prison sentence after he was convicted of using false documents to claim Universal Credit over two years.
The defendant, who was not named, submitted the falsified paperwork to obtain benefit payments. The court imposed a suspended custodial term, meaning the man avoids immediate imprisonment but could face prison if he commits further offences.
