Residents in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area are being targeted by a scam involving text messages about parking fines. The council has issued a warning after receiving reports that members of the public are being sent fraudulent texts relating to car parking tickets.

The council does not send text messages for any of its operated car parks, officials stressed. Any legitimate correspondence regarding parking enforcement is sent by its official agents, Marston Holdings Limited.

Anyone who receives such a text message is urged not to respond. Instead, the incident should be reported to the council on 0300 0300 900. A full list of council-managed car parks is available on the council’s website.
