A 38-year-old man has pleaded guilty to possessing a knuckleduster in a public place in Randalstown. Jason Michael Howell, of Church Lane, Grange near Toomebridge, admitted the offence at Antrim Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

He was charged with having the weapon on Castle Road, Randalstown, on May 11, without lawful authority or reasonable excuse.

The court adjourned the case until June 30 for a pre-sentence report.
