A plant hire company based in Enniskillen has reported the theft of two pieces of construction machinery from a site in County Tyrone.

HP Hire said a Kubota U55-4 five-tonne excavator and a Thwaites nine-tonne dumper were discovered missing on Saturday morning, 6 June.

The machines were initially believed to have last been in the Kilskeery area. However, the firm later received a sighting at approximately 1.30pm that same afternoon. Witnesses reported seeing the excavator and dumper being transported on a black eight-wheeler beavertail lorry travelling along the Tempo Road towards Fintona.

The company is now appealing for motorists, residents and businesses in the vicinity to review any dashcam or CCTV footage from the time of the sighting and the days that followed.

A spokesperson for HP Hire said all information would be treated in the strictest confidence and that even seemingly minor details could prove valuable. The firm also thanked members of the public for the information already provided and urged anyone with further details to come forward.

Anyone who believes they may have seen the machinery or the lorry involved is asked to contact HP Hire directly or report the information to the relevant authorities.
