Deputy First Minister visits Bangor woman ahead of 105th birthday
Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly and North Down MLA Stephen Dunne have paid a visit to May Trimble at her home in Bangor ahead of her 105th birthday.
Mrs Trimble will reach the milestone in September, and the visit allowed family and friends to gather with the politicians to mark the occasion.
Mr Dunne described Mrs Trimble as a remarkable person and said it was a privilege to hear her life stories and perspective, spanning more than a century of change.
He commented on the clear admiration her family holds for her, adding that she remains full of warmth and wisdom.
Mr Dunne extended his birthday wishes and looked forward to the celebrations later this year.
