Portrush RNLI rescues two kayakers off Ramore Head
Portrush RNLI launched its inshore lifeboat at 12.40pm on 27 May after reports of kayakers in difficulty off Ramore Head.
The lifeboat arrived on scene five minutes later. The two kayakers were found in the water next to their kayaks.
The crew brought both individuals aboard and returned them to Portrush Harbour, where they were handed over to HM Coastguard.
Conditions at the time included clear skies, light southerly winds and good visibility.
The lifeboat returned to station at 12.50pm.
Deputy Launching Authority Carl Kennedy said the kayakers had done the right thing by remaining with their kayaks and described the response as a textbook rescue.
