DUP politicians met the Parades Commission in Belfast to raise concerns about a proposed march organised by the Irish Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

The march is due to take place on June 6 from Lurgan to Omeath, passing through Scarva, if approved by the Commission.

The application lodged by the Irish Palestine Solidarity Campaign Lurgan branch remains marked as sensitive and under consideration.

A separate protest notification has also been submitted to the Commission by Scarva Concerned Residents.

Upper Bann MLAs Diane Dodds and Jonathan Buckley, South Down MLA Diane Forsythe, and local DUP councillors presented residents' objections to the Commission.

The delegation cited disruption and disorder associated with a similar event last year and urged the Commission to impose restrictions to protect public order.

A decision on both the march application and the protest notification is expected today.
