An Armagh resident will cycle 30 miles from Armagh to St Patrick's Chair near Augher in County Tyrone on June 10.

Willie Nugent, 78, is raising funds for UNICEF to support children in Ukraine and Gaza.

Nugent said he has cycled for charity before, including a Donegal to Armagh route and a longer trip from Armagh to Knock in Mayo.

He stated that his earlier jobs involved cycling to deliver groceries and that charity cycling keeps him fit while supporting a cause.

Nugent said he will ride alone and that his thoughts during the journey will be with children affected by conflict.

He added that family and friends will meet him at the finish line.

Nugent has raised over a million pounds for charity through earlier efforts, including record attempts in Armagh.
