A Belfast man has been refused bail on 20 new charges including rape, supplying cocaine and controlling prostitution.

Trevor Donaghy, 45, of Ainsworth Drive, appeared at Belfast High Court on Thursday.

Prosecutors told the court Donaghy allegedly supplied drugs to three women before assaulting them.

The court heard one woman claimed Donaghy gave her cocaine, cannabis and pregabalin then required her to have sex in exchange for more drugs.

A second woman told police she was raped after Donaghy injected her with a substance at his home.

The third complainant said Donaghy provided a white bodysuit and injected her before several men raped her and gave him money.

Donaghy already faces separate charges of trafficking a woman with reading and writing difficulties.

Judge Patrick Lynch KC refused bail citing the risk of re-offending and interference with witnesses.
