A Ballymena man has been sentenced at Antrim Magistrates Court for threatening behaviour.

Krysztof Walewski, 37, of Church Street, Ballymena, admitted sending a woman messages containing indecent images and threatening to share more.

The offences took place between June 5 and 8 last year. The messages included the words "F**k you" and images the defendant later said came from Polish sex sites.

Walewski told police the face in the images was obscured. He said he sent the messages because the woman had commented on a post about an issue involving his ex-partner.

District Judge Nigel Broderick sentenced Walewski to one year of probation and 75 hours of community service. He also imposed a two-year restraining order preventing Walewski from referring to the victim on social media.

The judge described the offence as nasty and noted it would have caused the victim understandable concern. The defendant entered a guilty plea and had no relevant record.
