A 28-year-old man from Roslea has been remanded in custody after appearing at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on charges of breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

Odhran McCabe, of Drumshancorick Road, Rosslea, faces two counts of breaching the order. Police told the court he was arrested after being found lying outside Omagh Urgent Care Centre at around 6am on 16 May.

A detective sergeant said McCabe told officers he had started a relationship with an 18-year-old woman the previous week. He said he became intoxicated after a disagreement and went to the centre to send her pictures of himself to make her feel bad. His father later collected him and confirmed he had stayed out overnight.

McCabe largely answered no comment during interview and refused to give police the identity of the woman or the passcode to his phone.

The prosecution objected to bail, citing a real risk of reoffending. The detective described McCabe as manipulative and noted an underlying tone of persistence in his previous offending.

McCabe was previously convicted of befriending a vulnerable child online and kissing her, receiving a suspended eight-month prison sentence. He was also convicted of approaching and sexually assaulting two female children in a car park, resulting in a three-year probation order.

District Judge Alana McSorley refused bail, citing calculation in the current breach and a clear risk of further offending. McCabe will appear again by video link on 15 June.
