Grove Activity Centre reopens under new operator
Grove Activity Centre in Lisburn has reopened under the operation of Live Life Wellbeing following a Community Asset Transfer from Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council.
The official reopening took place with Mayor Alderman Amanda Grehan in attendance. Live Life Wellbeing will run the activity centre, car park and 3G pitch while the council retains responsibility for the outdoor playground.
Live Life Wellbeing, which launched in 2021, supports young adults aged 19 to 35 with additional needs in the Greater Lisburn area. The organisation also operates from Sarah Crothers Hall.
The council supported refurbishment works at the centre through its Community Investment Fund. Live Life Wellbeing now holds the lease and has responsibility for building maintenance.
Mayor Alderman Amanda Grehan described the reopening as a positive development for the local community.
Councillor Claire Kemp said the transfer demonstrates community-led regeneration and enables organisations to invest in local facilities.
Councillor Tim Mitchell highlighted the role of such facilities in supporting social connection and wellbeing.
