Lidl Advances New Store and Pub Projects Across Northern Ireland
Lidl plans a new supermarket in Ballycastle, County Antrim. The store would go on Leyland Road at the site of a former shop. The project includes mixed-tenure housing.
In Dundonald, County Down, Lidl started construction on a pub and off-licence next to its existing supermarket. The 900 sq ft venue has its own entrance. Building firm MMG Contracts handles the work.
The High Court approved Lidl's application for the pub licence under the surrender principle. A new operator acquires an existing licence through this process.
Lidl expects the Dundonald pub to create eight permanent jobs. The total staff at the Dundonald supermarket will reach 27 upon opening later this summer.
In south Belfast, Lidl develops a new supermarket at the former Homebase site. The location sits across from the Forestside shopping centre near the Saintfield Road and Ormeau Road junction.
