Stena Line plans a £14 million investment to upgrade its Irish Sea fleet. The work covers 11 vessels on routes that include Belfast to Cairnryan, Birkenhead and Heysham. These crossings connect Northern Ireland to Great Britain.

Upgrades feature refurbished cabins and more pet-friendly options. Stena Plus lounges will receive improvements for premium travel. Family entertainment areas aim to assist passengers with children.

Mark Scouler, Stena Line Fleet Manager for the Irish Sea, stated the investment maintains standards of safety, efficiency, comfort and reliability. He noted the company seeks to lead the market for freight and travel.

Orla Noonan, Commercial Travel Manager, said customer feedback guided the enhancements. She highlighted additions like family areas, lounge spaces and pet facilities to meet expectations.

The programme supports passenger travel and freight between Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.
