Robert Swann died suddenly at hospital on Saturday, April 25. He was husband to Bertha and father to Michelle, Karen and the late Richard. He was also father-in-law to Gary and the late Rory, and grandfather to Adam, Hannah, Reuben and Alexander. He was brother to Linda and the late David.

A service of thanksgiving takes place on Tuesday, May 5, at 11am in Larne Elim Church. The funeral follows at 1pm at Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium. Donations are invited to NI Chest, Heart and Stroke Association via E.W. Ramsey & Son, Funeral Directors, 5 Upper Main Street, Larne.

Larne FC expressed sadness at the news. The club called Swann a supporter and respected figure in local sport and the town.

Wellington Rec FC described Swann as a gentleman and respected referee.

Islandmagee FC noted Swann as a character in local refereeing who shared stories with club members.

Whitehead Eagles FC said Swann was a great referee and nice man in local football. The club added that he spoke to players, coaches and managers after games.

Factory Community Forum, Larne, stated Swann supported the community at events and fundraising. Carniny AYFC also sent thoughts to the family.
