Sinn Féin Holds Student Discussion on Ireland's Future at Queen's University
Sinn Féin's Commission on the Future of Ireland held a discussion at Queen's University, Belfast, on the theme of students in a new Ireland.
The event took place last night. Sociology and criminology student Annie Nic Mhánais chaired the discussion as an Ógra Shinn Féin representative.
Panelists included law student Jeb- Jeb Samama, medical student Eimear Nic Siacais, and law graduate Will Polland of the SDLP.
Sinn Féin representatives noted strong student interest in the topic. The commission, established in 2022, aims to include input from citizens across the island on Ireland's future.
Participants explored students' roles in building a new Ireland. Topics covered potential benefits for health services, education systems, and EU access, as well as challenges.
Some students expressed uncertainty on Irish unity and sought more information on its implications for their futures.
