First Minister Michelle O'Neill affirmed full commitment to constructing the Enniskillen bypass. She visited Fermanagh with Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly to meet local business and tourism leaders.

The pair toured the Killyhevlin Hotel, Encirc, and Lough Erne. O'Neill stated the project faced delays due to a legal challenge over the A5 road. She noted funds previously ring-fenced for the bypass were returned this year, but the money remains allocated.

O'Neill said the Northern Ireland Executive intends to resume work quickly. Little-Pengelly called for changes to legislation to allow progress amid the ongoing A5 appeal. She highlighted support from Infrastructure Minister Deborah.

Little-Pengelly stressed that people in Fermanagh and Enniskillen need the bypass and that climate change rules should not block essential public services.
